为促进海内外学者的学术交流，推动中国公司治理与公司财务研究的发展，上海财经大学会计与财务研究院与香港中文大学经济与金融研究中心将于2009年11月6-7日在上海举办“新兴市场公司财务与治理研讨会”，重点讨论中国以及其他新兴市场中的公司财务与治理问题，特别是制度与公司财务和治理的关系问题。届时，我们将邀请该领域内优秀的海内外学者（包括北美、香港和台湾等）就大家共同关心的问题展开深入研讨。为了更好地体现本次研讨会的开放性，并保证该次研讨会的论文质量，现面向全国公开征集论文（中英文不限）。征文选题参考（但不限于）如下：

1. 法制体系与公司财务和治理

2. 政府管制与公司财务和治理

3. 非正式制度与公司财务和治理

4. 国有企业中的公司财务和治理问题

5. 民营企业（特别是家族企业）的公司财务和治理问题

6. 中介机构在公司财务和治理中的作用

7. 新兴市场中的公司财务和治理变迁

应征论文经专家评审后，将于2009年10月20日前通知作者入选与否，入选论文作者将应邀参加本次研讨会。本次研讨会初定参会代表20－30人，注册费500元/人。本次大会将从应征论文中挑选8－10篇作为大会宣讲论文，并邀请该领域的优秀学者作为宣讲论文的评论人。大会将为宣讲论文的作者提供差旅费（每篇限一名，最高限额2000元人民币）和食宿费用，并免除其注册费。

International Conference on Corporate Finance and Governance in Emerging Markets

An international conference on corporate finance and governance in emerging markets will be held in Shanghai on November 6 - 7, 2009. This conference is co-sponsored by Institute of Accounting and Finance of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SHUFE) and Center of Economic and Finance of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The goal of the conference is to bring together researchers and scholars working on current issues in the broad area of corporate finance and governance and promote the research in China. The theme of the conference is corporate finance and corporate governance in China and other emerging markets, especially the relationship of institutions with corporate finance and corporate governance. We will invite leading researchers and scholars from North America, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other areas or countries to share their research in current academic issues. Your participation will improve the quality and openness of the conference.

You are cordially invited to submit papers (in Chinese or English). Relevant topics include, but are not limited to the following list:

1. Legal system and corporate finance and governance

2. Government regulation and corporate finance and governance

3. Informal institutions and corporate finance and governance

4. Corporate finance and governance of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs)

5. Corporate finance and governance of family firms

6. The roles of intermediaries in corporate finance and governance

7. Transition of corporate finance and governance in emerging markets

Please submit your paper in electronic format (Word or PDF files) via e-mail on or beforeSeptember 30, 2009to[email protected], with subject as “Paper for 2009 Conference”.

The papers will be subject to a refereeing and selection process. The submitting authors will be notified of the Organizing Committee’s decision byOctober 20, 2009. The authors of selected papers will be invited to take part in the conference. The Organizing Committee (preliminarily) intends to select and invite 20 ~ 30 researchers and scholars. The conference registration fee isRMB 500per person. The Organizing Committee will select 8 to 10 papers to present in the conference, and invite researchers specializing in corresponding areas as discussants. Participants whose papers are accepted for presentation at the conference (one author for each paper) will have a subsidy to defray travel costs (up to RMB 2,000) and lodging, and will have their registration fee waived.

The co-chairmen of the conference, Professor CHEN Xinyuan (Dean of School of Accountancy of SHUFE), and Professor Joseph P.H. FAN (Director of Center of Economic and Finance of CUHK), sincerely invite researchers and scholars all over the world to take part in the conference in the autumn of 2009 in Shanghai.
