Graduate Programme

Each of our two-year graduate programmes has its own worldclass development scheme. No matter which area you choose, you’ll gain all the technical and practical experience you need to be successful in your role. First, you’ll attend a global induction in London. This is designed to equip you with a core set of skills. As well as case studies, business simulations and group assignments, there will be intensive classroom learning. These sessions will give you an overview of financial and capital markets, and RBS’s distinct proposition within them. From the outset, you’ll be assigned a buddy to help you with your transition from university. Your buddy will be a recent graduate themselves so they’ll know exactly what it’s like to be a new joiner and the kind of support and advice you might need. Obviously, your manager and colleagues will also be on hand to answer any questions you have. The progress you make as a graduate is up to you. Put simply, the more you push yourself, the more your development will benefit — whether you’re gaining experience on rotations or placements, studying for professional qualifications, attending networking events, or taking early responsibility on projects.

Intern Programme

For penultimate year students in the Asia Pacific region, we offer a range of internships across our different business areas. These are open to students from all academic disciplines who can demonstrate an interest in banking and finance. An internship is a great way to build useful knowledge and skills. In your first week with us, you’ll attend an orientation, which will equip you with an understanding of financial markets basics and important soft skills. You’ll learn from your manager and buddy, while gaining hands-on experience. Undertaking your own assignment will help you develop project management and presentation skills. And you’ll have many opportunities to enhance your networking skills, both in your daily work and at the various networking events you’ll be invited to attend.
