Overview:

It is an exciting and growthful time for the field of leadership studies as it opens up to new disciplinary perspectives from physics and biology to the fine and performing arts. But what might a geographic perspective add to the understanding and practice of leadership? Drawing on his original training as a geographer, Brad will highlight a number of profitable avenues for research and teaching that might be opened up by a Geography of Leadership. Most notably, the field might finally come to grips with the elusive yet long recognised problem of conceptualising context in leadership processes. In terms of leadership practice, this will serve to highlight the significance of space and place in fostering common identity, purpose and direction.
