Abstract：Digital technologies are fundamentally reshaping businesses into the era of digital business that aims at leveraging digital resources to create differential values. On the other hand, the importance of service in the global economy has grown steadily while the importance of goods has declined. This phenomenon leads to all businesses becoming service businesses and services regarded as the main drivers of technical changes and economic progress. However, it is yet to be explored about what are the important competences required to develop successful digital businesses that are differential service value oriented. Accordingly, this invited talk would like to provide some framework, examples and exploration projects (conducted in Service Science Research Center of National Chengchi University) in order to demonstrate those identified competence dimensions and stimulate more future relevant research that can advance the current status quo of business transformation from the perspectives of both the academic and the industrial
